Are you currently a producer or considering producing your original content? Or have you never used the Media Center or its services? We need your input to know what classes, services, equipment and programming our community needs.

Do you take advantage or need access to video editing equipment? What type? What is not needed?

yes, and software also. Need training in how to use it. Start with editing youtube videos, and work up from there.

Need classes in creating title pages, logos, and graphic art for videos.

Access to editing equipment is fine and good, but it's how to best arrange and cut together a video that is the craft of editing. That's how you create a video that will draw and hold people's attention.

I agree with Randy that the editing suites are very valuable to the Media Center, and the use of the editing machines and software is vitally important to producing a show. I use the editing suites the most in my productions. On average, it takes one hour to produce one minute of edited material. I like Final Cut Pro because I'm the most familiar with that software. That's another reason why the Media Center is so important. I guess anyone can shoot video, but the editing is what makes it interesting, and not just home movies. The movie magic you get with editing is priceless.

I have learned and liked Final Cut Pro 6; but when I learn HD I will have to learn Adobe Premiere. I like to access the program in a tactile manner with the mouse primarily; I am not fond of using keyboard commands.
